Grant Thornton unlocks potential for growth in our local communities

Luxembourg – Grant Thornton Luxembourg joined Grant Thornton offices in 78 countries to highlight their on-going year-long community involvement through their annual global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event, 'Growing Together in the community'.

Grant Thornton people around the world have been helping communities grow since 2014 as part of their global CSR strategy. It is their promise to others to Act, Commit and Share by giving back to the local communities wherever Grant Thornton people may work.

This global programme is bringing real change to others through positive actions and impact to people, clients and the community. Grant Thornton teams around the world have transformed so many lives through local and national programmes.

“Grant Thornton Luxembourg is committed to unlocking the potential for growth in our clients, our people and in our communities,” said Nicolas Tarabella, Partner – IBC Director, in charge of CSR initiatives in Luxembourg. “And while we are active in our communities throughout the year, on 22 September we were able to recognise and encourage ongoing contributions.”

At the occasion of the global CSR day 2017, Grant Thornton Luxembourg had supported a local association “Fondation Follereau” which is currently financing more than 35 development projects in nine countries in West Africa and Madagascar. (Learn more about the association here: https://www.ffl.lu/). The main topic was to discover how our employees could help to protect children in distress and support maternal and child health.

The CSR day was organised as an “awareness seminar” with several activities such as: presentation of the association and projects supported, projection of a movie dealing with the status of women in Mali, an activity aimed at demonstrating the inequalities in the world, think tank / writing workshops, an african danse lesson and a reception drink.
