Past Event: Tuesday, October 18, 2022

As experienced personal data protection practitioners, we would like to invite you to join us for a lunch and learn session where we will:

  • Practically explain how to assess whether you are handling personal data for your own intents and purposes (as a Data Controller), or on behalf of others (as a Data Processor), and explain how this will shape your DPA;
  • Outline what features a DPA should contain;
  • Provide easy to use checklists to assess whether those with whom you intend to share personal data can be trusted;
  • Describe mechanisms providing adequate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers of personal data to non-adequate countries (as per the European Commission decisions), and a means to assess whether foreign legal frameworks allow for DPAs to be respected (Transfer Impact Assessments);
  • Outline best practice on how to address those aspects of a DPA that are subject to negotiation;
  • Present clear guidance on how to ensure that the implementation of a DPA is a smooth and efficient process for all stakeholders involved.
